Nickole Tray Obituary

Nickole Rebecca (Williams) Tray
Affectionately known to many as “Coley”

Nickole Tray’s first sunrise was on Friday, October 6, 1972, and her last sunset was on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at the age of 53. Coley passed peacefully at her home in Green Lane, Pennsylvania, surrounded by her immediate family.

She was born at Coudersport Hospital in Coudersport, Pennsylvania, to Clinton and Diana (Sherman) Williams, and spent her childhood years in Potter County, Pennsylvania, a place she always held close to her heart.

While attending Francis Scott Key Senior High School in Union Bridge, Maryland, she simultaneously pursued her vocational education at Carroll County Vocational Technical School, graduating from high school in 1990 and earning her practical nursing education at the same time. Nursing was not simply her profession—it was her calling.

She dedicated more than 20 years of her life as an LPN at “The County,” now known as Parkhouse, in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, and at Pennsburg Manor in Pennsburg, Pennsylvania. She also served as a hospice nurse with Bayada in Sellersville, Pennsylvania, providing comfort and dignity to patients and families during life’s most difficult moments. In the last few years of her career, she worked in patient advocacy as a nurse supervisor for Kencrest Services in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. Specializing in geriatric care, she was professionally known for her fierce advocacy, deep compassion, and unwavering commitment to ensuring every patient was cared for in every way possible.

She is survived by her beloved sister, Susan Williams (John Simons), who resides in Potter County, Pennsylvania; her four daughters, whom she cherished beyond measure—Coleen and Corynne Tray, and Amber and Ashley Rupert, all of whom lived nearby; and her niece and nephew, Kirsten (Thomas) Williams (TJ Williams) and Colby Thomas, who also reside in Potter County, Pennsylvania and whom she loved visiting there. She was also a proud great-aunt to Natalie Williams and James Thomas.

Coley was selfless, stubborn, and one of the strongest women many of us will ever know. While she was widely respected for her nursing career, she was most at home with her family and close friends. She believed in tough love, stood firm in her convictions, and made every sacrifice she could to be present for her children. She opened her heart and her home to pets, particularly senior dogs with complex medical needs, giving them comfort, security, and love. She also enjoyed live music, good company, and any opportunity to let loose, embracing life with the same intensity and warmth she gave to others.

A celebration of life is being planned, and details will be shared at a later time. Those interested in attending are asked to contact her children for further information. In lieu of flowers, and at her request, donations may be made to the Montgomery County SPCA in Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania, to help animals in need.

Coley’s legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched—as a nurse, a mother, a sister, a caregiver, and a friend.
