Nicole Kells Obituary

Nicole L. Kells, affectionately known as Nikki to her loved ones and friends, passed away after a courageous battle with lung cancer and respiratory disease on August 20, 2024, at the age of 45.  Born on November 24, 1978, in Reading, Pennsylvania, Nikki’s infectious laughter and boundless love were a beacon of light to all who knew her.  She departed this world in the same city that had been her lifelong home, surrounded by the family she adored.

Nikki’s life was one marked by deep familial ties and unwavering dedication to her loved ones.  She is survived by devoted husband, Robert B. Kells Jr., and their two cherished daughters, Alanorah M. Kells and Kylee R. Leininger.  Her legacy includes her beloved grandson, Nickolas J. Garman, who brought immense joy and pride to her life.  Nikki was the treasured daughter of Paulette P. Vilardo and the late Randall Nein, and she held a special place the heart of her stepfather, Barry J. Vilardo and stepmother Jackie Nein.  Her grandmother, June Nein, her brother, Dean Gurney, her step brother, Justin Garman, her sister-in-law, Heather Garman, her niece, Leah Burkis, her nephew, Jayden Garman, her sister, Tiffani Mosser, along with Tiffani’s husband, Steven Mosser, and their son, Steven Mosser, will carry Nikki’s memory forward.  Her family circle extended to include her Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Mark Kern, her cousin Kristin Keiser, and Kristin’s husband, Dave Keiser, along with their daughter, Kameron.  Nikki’s kinship was further enriched by her brother-in-law, Owen P. Kells, his wife Kelli and their children, Maci and Dakota.  She was predeceased by her Aunt Robin Keller, yet her cousins Jesse and Ashley Keller continue to reflect the love she shared.

Informative years were spent in the hallways of Exeter High School, where she graduated before embarking on a path of lifelong learning through various college courses.  Her professional journey was marked by 14 years with the United State Postal Service, a role in which she displayed exemplary work ethic and a spirit of camaraderie.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Nikki’s true passion was found in the vibrancy of her interests and hobbies.  She was the epitome of a Cheer Mom, offering unwavering support and enthusiasm for her daughters’ endeavors.  Music and live concerts were sources of immense please for her, as was spending time at the shore.  Nikki’s love for the beach was paralleled by her enjoyment of boating and fishing, activities that reflected her adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Nikki would describe her as loving, courageous, and undeniably funny.  Her sense of humor and warmth were the glue that held her family and friends together, creating an atmosphere of joy wherever she went.  Nikki’s laughter was a song that resonated in the hearts of those she left behind, a melody of love and life that will continue to play for years to come.

Nikki’s life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of the human spirit.  She faced each day with a courage that inspired those around her, and her legacy if one of laughter, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to her family.  Nikki’s memory will be cherished and kept alive by the stories and moments shared by those who loved her most.

As we say goodbye to Nicole L. Kells, we do so with the knowledge that her spirit remains a guiding light, a reminder of the love and laughter that can fill the days of those she touched.  Nikki’s journey on this earth may have reached its sunset, but the dawn of her memory rises with each new day, as bright and beautiful as she was.
