Paul A. Steffe, Jr., affectionately known by many as Rock, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2023, at the age of 68 in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. Born on March 14, 1955, in Bakersfield, California, Paul was a man of integrity, strength, and boundless love for his family and friends.
Paul's early years were spent in the golden fields of Bakersfield, where he was raised by his loving parents, Paul A., Sr. and Doral (Pledger) Steffe. The values of hard work and commitment to family were instilled in him from a young age, principles he carried throughout his life. Paul's life was a testament to these values, as seen in the love and care he provided to his own family.
He is survived by his cherished children: Jennifer Smilko (Jeff), Bridgett Errich (Peter), Jillian Ketner (Bradley), Erin, Shawn, Brandon, and Brett Steffe. Each of them reflects a part of Paul's spirit, from his tenacity to his generous heart. His legacy will live on through them and his four adored grandchildren, who brought immense joy and laughter to his life.
Paul also leaves behind his sister, Edeana Gans, widow of Gary, who along with his niece, Shannon Gans, and two great-nieces and a great-nephew, will remember him for his strength, humor, and the unwavering support he provided to them.
Before his retirement, Paul dedicated many years of service as a truck driver for Boscov's Department Stores. His work ethic and loyalty were evident to all who worked alongside him. He was not only respected for his professionalism but also loved for his camaraderie and good-natured humor.
Beyond his professional life, Paul, or Rock as he was often called, had a passion for life that was contagious. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, creating memories that they will cherish forever. His presence at family gatherings was a source of comfort and joy, and his storytelling will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.
Paul's interests extended to the simple pleasures in life. He found contentment in the laughter of his grandchildren, the company of his children, and the companionship of his close friends and siblings. His ability to appreciate the moment and the people around him made every encounter with him special and meaningful.
