Raymond Blimline Obituary

Raymond (Ray) Earl Blimline, of Sinking Spring, PA, passed away on February 4, 2026 at the age of 76. He was the son of Earl and Anna Blimline of Gouglersville.

Ray was born on February 18, 1949, at Fort Dix, NJ, alongside his twin brother Richard. He spent most of his life in Berks County and worked for many years as a self-employed painting contractor. Ray served in the US Air Force during the 1960s and 1970s, including service in the Vietnam War. He was later stationed in Alaska — a place he often called his favorite on earth — where he spent his time hunting and fishing in the Alaskan wilderness.

Ray had a lifelong passion for the outdoors, a love he shared with his children. Weekends in summer and during hunting seasons were spent at the family camp, exploring Pennsylvania’s wildlands together. Whether hiking through the forest, spotting wildlife, identifying trees and plants, or teaching the skills of hunting, fishing, and trapping, Ray took joy in passing along his knowledge. A natural storyteller, he delighted in recounting the adventures he experienced along the way.

He is survived by his partner of many years, Andrea Becker; his sister, Martha “Chumpy” Hartzel; two of his children, Bec Blimline and Jillian Blimline; stepdaughter, Tara Kennedy Kline; grandchildren, Fern and Beatrice; step-grandchildren, Maxwell and Alexander; and great stepchild, Paisley.

He was preceded in death by his wife and the mother of his three children, Judith Blimline, and his son, Jesse Blimline, as well as his sister, Barbara (Blimline) McFalls; twin brother, Richard Blimline; and brother, Bruce Blimline.

Ray’s spirit lives on in the quiet surprises of wildlife and in the majestic moments that can only be experienced when surrounded by nature. In those fleeting glimpses, we remember Ray and the joy he found in the outdoors.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life will be held at a future date.
