Rita Marie Burleson, 81, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 4, 2026. She was born on June 7, 1944, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Rita was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tom Burleson; her daughter, Rita Heishman; her mother, Mary V. Fox; her father, William Fox; her brothers, Jack, Jimmy, Frank, Joseph and her sister, Marie. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Charles (Buddy) Carmen.
She is survived by her children, Donna Coringato, Charles Carmen, and Michele Gross (John), along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she dearly loved.
Rita lived a faithful and devoted life to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her faith was the foundation of her life and legacy, and it is because of her steadfast walk with Christ that many in her family have followed in that same faith. She loved her family deeply and prayed fervently for them, leaving behind a spiritual heritage that will continue for generations.
The family takes comfort in the promise of Scripture:
“But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope.”
— 1 Thessalonians 4:13 (NKJV)
Because of her faithful walk with Christ, her family carries forward the hope of the gospel she lived and shared. She will be deeply missed until we are reunited in glory.
In accordance with Rita’s wishes, no services will be held.
