Robert Randall Groff, known affectionately by friends and family as Randy, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on July 18, 1948, in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, Randy was a lifelong resident of his beloved hometown where he also drew his last breath, surrounded by the love of his family.
Randy was a man of great intelligence and analytical prowess, traits that served him well throughout his life and made him an interesting conversationalist and a cherished companion. His interests were diverse, and his enthusiasm for his favorite sports teams—the Philadelphia Phillies and the Kansas City Chiefs—was infectious. He brought the same passion to his love of traveling, exploring new horizons and experiencing different cultures, which often provided lively stories upon his return.
A man of the community, Randy was an active member of several local clubs, including the Brookside Country Club, LP Sportsman’s Club, Docs, the German Club, and FOE. His involvement in these organizations was not just for social enjoyment but also reflected his commitment to fellowship and service.
Randy was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his daughters, Tracy, wife of David Scott Camacho, and Tina, wife of Ron Moyer. His legacy continues through his adored grandchildren, Brittany, Madison, Hannah, Nathan, and Taylor, and his cherished great-grandchildren, Mia, Oliver, Charlotte, and Leland. Randy's role as a patriarch was filled with unwavering support, love, and the wisdom he shared generously.
Throughout his life, Randy exemplified the virtues of being both intelligent and interesting. He had a gift for analysis that he applied to every aspect of life. His interesting nature was evident in the stories he told, the adventures he embarked on, and the thoughtful conversations he sparked. Randy’s presence brought life to every gathering, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him. As we bid farewell to Randy, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life filled with joy, discovery, and the love of a family that meant the world to him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched, and the stories of his life will continue to inspire and entertain. Randy's journey on this earth may have come to an end, but his spirit endures in the love he left behind.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held to honor Randy's life on June 1, 2025 from 1:00-3:00 at Doc’s. Family and friends are invited to gather to share memories and pay tribute to a man who was truly one of a kind.
In the quiet moments, when the bustle of the day subsides, those who loved Randy will find comfort in the legacy he leaves—a legacy of love, family, and the pursuit of interests that make life so rich and fulfilling. Farewell, Randy, until we meet again.
