Robert V Wagner, 95, of Sinking Spring and Country Meadows Retirement Village, formerly of Mohnton, passed away on Tuesday, March 20th 2018.
He was the husband of Annette J. Wagner who passed away August 2013, after sharing 67 years of marriage.
Born in Mohnton, he was the son of the late Martin and Lillie (Slough) Wagner.
Robert and Annette were longtime co-owners of the former Warner Fuel Oil Co in Mohnton; He was a longtime member of the Friendship Fire Co. #2, Mohnton, serving as Asst. Chief and then Chief from 1964-1977. He was also a member of the V.F.W. Post 9045, Mohnton, the Pennwyn Motor Association, Mohnton, and the Perkiomen Valley Motorcycle Club. Bob and Annette enjoyed traveling around the United States and abroad. He was an avid motorcyclist until the age of 94. Robert was a WWII Army Veteran serving under, General George Patton, as a Tank Crewman in Germany, Italy and France from 1942-1946.
Surviving is a daughter Peggy A. (Wagner) Frey and husband Nevin G. Frey of Muhlenberg Twp.
Robert was predeceased by one sister Marguerite Showalter, wife of Russell Showalter.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service Monday, March 26, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at Giles & Yeckley Funeral Home, 21 Chestnut Street, Mohnton, with Pastor Victor Kroninger officiating.
A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home on Monday March 26, 2018.
