Ronald J. Redcay, 83, of Shillington, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the Reading Hospital.
He was the husband of Gloria L. (Ruth) Redcay.
He was the son of the late Stanley F., Sr. and Evelyn (Weik) Redcay.
Ron was a graduate of Governor Mifflin High School and the Wharton School of Business. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving from 1956 to 1960. He was a longtime employee of the Dana Corporation in Reading, retiring in 1998 after 35 years of service. He worked at the Giles & Yeckley Funeral Home as a Funeral Associate for over 20 years. Ron was very active in his community as a member of the P.O.S.A. Washington Camp in Mohnton, where he currently served as Recording Treasurer and was a past President. He also was a past member of the Mohnton Cumru Lions Club, where he served as President and Treasurer. He was a faithful and active member of Zion E.C.C. in Mohnton, where he served as a past Sunday School Teacher, a member of the Governing Board and Sunday School Board for many years. Ron loved life! He loved his children and their families, and he relished his time with family and friends especially at holiday dinners and picnics.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children: Randy J. (Ellen) of Eloy, AZ; Kevin S. (Michelle) of Bernville and Barbara A. (Thomas) Ernst of Grill.
Also surviving are grandchildren: Kathryn Peplinski, Ryan and Christian Redcay; Kerryn Redcay-Turner (Stephen) and Kellen Redcay; Nathan, Natalie, Colin and Amelia Ernst; and great grandchild Ellie Jade Musick.
Siblings: Martin A. (Rosalie) Redcay of Mohnton; Stanley F. Redcay, Jr. of Mifflin Court; Dennis G. (Bonnie) Redcay of Sinking Spring; Donna M. Beissel of Shillington and Bruce D. (Jamie) Redcay of Silver Spring, MD; and sister in law, Linda Redcay of Mohnton, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by siblings, Nancy Parker, Robert M. Redcay and Terry K. Redcay.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Evangelical Congregational Church, 57 N. Church Street, Mohnton.
A viewing will be held on Saturday from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
Interment with Military Honors will be held in Mohnsville Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Ron’s memory to Zion E.C.C. Sunday School Fund.
