Ronald R. Slichter

Ronald R. Slichter, 90, of Cumru Twp., passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at home.

He was the husband of Ferne A. (Messner) Slichter.

Born in Mohnton, he was the son of the late Raymond A. and Rachael E. (Marks) Slichter Boyer.

Ron was a 1951 graduate of Mohnton High School.  Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean War.   He worked in the plumbing and heating business working his way up to Master Plumber, retiring in 1997.  He owned and operated Earl Sands Plumbing, from 1981 until retirement.  Ron enjoyed golfing and their many vacations to Florida.  He was a 50 plus year member of the Wyomissing U.C.C. in Gouglersville.

Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Priscilla A. wife of Daniel J. Kiefer, III of Mohrsville and Gretajo, wife of Carl J. Fricker of Arizona.  Also surviving are grandchildren: Derrick Thomason, Daniel J. Kiefer, IV, Rachel A., wife of David Grean and Brock E. Sheets.

He was predeceased by a sister, Marilyn (Slichter) Vernon.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 10:30 A.M. at Giles & Yeckley Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc., 21 Chestnut Street, Mohnton.

A viewing will be held on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Mohnsville Cemetery, Mohnton.
