Sherry Bokovoy Obituary

It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Sherry Lynn Snyder-Bokovoy (Griesemer) at the age of 83. Sherry was born in Reading, PA, on January 2, 1941, and graduated from Blue Mountain Academy in 1959. She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who touched the lives of all who knew her.

Sherry was preceded in death by her father Ray Griesemer, her mother Alice Reese Griesemer, her sister Nancy DesLaurier, and her first husband William Snyder. She is survived by her devoted husband Ron Bokovoy; daughters Suzanne and Jeannine; stepchildren Phil, Melissa, and Matt; grandchildren Joelle, Cecilia, Rachel, Daniel, Katherine, and Spencer; great-grandchildren Isabella, Willow, Alexis, Jameson, and Jarrett; as well as her beloved cats, Missy and Charlie.

Sherry was a woman of great heart, spending her life working with children and the elderly, and always showing love for her family and friends. A gifted decorator, artist, designer, and crafter, Sherry had a special talent for making every space beautiful and every holiday unforgettable. She also enjoyed painting, crafting, and was proud to have won many ribbons at the Oley Fair for her creative work. She had an infectious sense of humor and an unmatched love for life. She was proud of her gardening and her cooking. She found joy in preparing dishes for family gatherings and pot lucks at church.

Sherry loved traveling the world and cruising with her husband Ronald, experiencing new places and making unforgettable memories together. She also cherished her trips to Ocean City, MD, as well as the many visits to Knoebels Amusement Resort with her grandkids, where laughter and fun were always in abundance.

Her love for Jesus, her family, and all living things, including her precious fur babies, defined her. She was always ready with a kind word, a helping hand, and a warm smile. Sherry’s lifelong friends, Rebecca and Amanda, share in the grief of losing someone who was more like a sister to them, as they spent countless hours crafting, shopping, and creating lasting memories together.

A woman of deep faith, Sherry will forever be remembered as the Queen of holidays, entertaining with flair and love. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.

Services will be held on April 27, 2025, at Hampden Heights SDA Church in Temple, PA. Additional details will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local animal shelter, a cause dear to Sherry’s heart.
