Shirley E. Brendle

Shirley E. Brendle, 87, of Shillington passed away after a short illness Sunday, May 21, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold W. Brendle, August 2002.

Born in Mohnton, she was the daughter of the late Orrell and Annie (Schonour) Stoner.  

Shirley worked at the Mohnsville Industrial Hosiery Mills in her early years and later had her own small house cleaning business.  She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mohnton.  She enjoyed baking and birthdays, her favorite pastime was reading, and she loved being around all of the family pets.  Most of all she loved family gatherings.

Surviving are three children:  Two daughters, Robin, married to Rich Porter, Bluffton, South Carolina; Karen, married to Steve Parzanese, Reading, Pennsylvania; a son, David Brendle of Mohnton, Pennsylvania;  three grandchildren:  Michael (Amy) Parzanese, Vincent (Kendra) Parzanese, and Michelle (Max) Huffman; six great-grandchildren:  Joseph, Anthony, Calvin, Jacob, Rowan, and Everett, whom she was very proud of; Joyce, a niece who was like a sister; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by all of her siblings: Florence, Harold, Paul, Betty, Donald, Anna, Robert, and Richard.
