Steve graduated from Wilson High School in 1964 and briefly attended Kutztown University before entering the U.S. Army in 1967, serving three years with distinction. He continued to serve his country in the Air National Guard, where he remained until the late 1970s.

For the majority of Steve’s career, hewas employed at Carpenter Technology and SFS Intec, where he worked as a supervisor.  His strong work ethic and leadership skills were evident to all who worked with him. Steve was a devoted husband to Kathleen Focht (nee Wahl) for 52 years. He was a proud father to Christine King (Focht), wife of Kevin King, Brian Focht, husband of Jennifer Focht (Toso), and Stephanie Spayd (Focht), wife of Kyle Spayd.
