Steven Michael Ornosky, known as Steve to his friends and family, passed away on April 30, 2025, at the age of 62 in his home in Birdsboro, Pennsylvania. Steve was born on August 11, 1962, in Allentown, Pennsylvania to the late Ethel Rose (Fecko) Ornosky and the late Martin Ornosky, and grew up in Quakertown, Pennsylvania. He was predeceased by his youngest brother, Daniel M. Ornosky.
He is survived by his daughter, Sierra M. Ornosky of Birdsboro, Pennsylvania, along with his brothers, Paul M. Ornosky (husband of Amy Ornosky) of Lakeland, Tennessee, John M. Ornosky (husband of Patrice Ornosky) of Trenton, New Jersey, and Robert M. Ornosky (husband of Colleen Ornosky) of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Steve graduated from Bethlehem Catholic High School in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in 1980, and attended The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. from 1980-1983.
Steve began his career at Probe Environmental in Maple Shade, New Jersey where he worked as an environmental technician for three years overseeing asbestos removal projects and building inspections. He then worked for two years at Knauss Dried Beef in Quakertown, Pennsylvania in plant sanitation and dried beef production. Afterwards, he worked for nine years at Palmer International in Skippack, Pennsylvania producing brake and clutch friction material, along with epoxy materials. Following these positions, Steve spent 19 years working for Godiva Chocolatier in Reading, Pennsylvania in plant sanitation and later as a mixer/cook making the fillings for chocolates.
Steve was a skilled craftsman who built his log cabin home many years ago. He took pride in maintaining his home and property. Steve was passionate about cooking and took great joy in sharing his homemade meals with friends and family. He loved spending time outdoors at his friend’s cabin hunting and fishing. Locally, Steve especially enjoyed ice-fishing. He also liked playing intramural floor hockey in high school and playing goalie for Echo Valley Dek Hockey League as an adult.
At his request, there will be no memorial service.
Steve will be remembered as a devoted father, a loving brother, and a steadfast friend. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers and medical professionals who provided comfort and care to Steve during his final years battling colon cancer. His life was a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. Rest in peace, Steve.
