Terry Gibson Obituary

Terry Gene Gibson, a man whose life was a testament to courage, generosity, and love, left this world on December 5, 2025, in Reading, PA, after a valiant battle with COPD and heart disease. Born on May 14, 1961, in Green Cove Springs, FL, Terry's journey through life was one of vibrant engagement, unwavering commitment to his family, and an infectious passion for all things that brought joy and excitement.

Terry, a graduate of Reading High School, was a man who embraced life with both hands. His professional life as a catering driver and salesman in Chicago, IL, was marked by the same enthusiasm and dedication that he showed in every aspect of his life. He was a man who could light up a room with his presence, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

Christian faith played a significant role in Terry's life, guiding him through the trials and tribulations with steadfast hope and resilience. His beliefs were the cornerstone that supported him, providing comfort and strength in times of need. He loved singing southern songs of faith with his mother and sister.

Terry's interests were as colorful and varied as the man himself. From the thrill of gambling to the strategic world of card games, the excitement of horse racing to the entertaining spectacle of game shows, he relished the moments of challenge and chance. These were not mere pastimes but reflections of a man who loved to live on the edge, to feel the rush of life in every moment.

The words "generous," "courageous," and "loving" are not mere descriptors but the essence of who Terry was. His generosity knew no bounds, always willing to give of himself to those in need. His courage was evident in the way he faced his health challenges, never letting them diminish his zest for life. His love for his family was unyielding, a beacon of warmth and safety for them.

Terry was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Reba Landis, his father, William Gibson Sr., and his cherished son, Matthew Gibson. He leaves behind a legacy of love and memories with his brothers William, Randy, and Jerry Gibson; his sisters Virginia Gradischer and Debra Schaefer; his children Brianna Moore and Nathan Gibson; and his adored nieces and nephews, Amy Lynn Gattone, Cassandra, Jessica, Amanda, William Gibson III, great niece Amber Rae Mende and great nephew Thomas Bueche.

As we remember Terry, let us reflect on the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." Terry's indomitable spirit was the true measure of the man, and it is that spirit which will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.

To have known Terry was to know a life lived to the fullest, without regrets, embracing each day as a gift. He showed us that even in the face of adversity, one can approach life with a smile, unwavering faith, and an open heart. Terry Gene Gibson's life was a journey of love, laughter, and the unshakable belief that the best of life is found in the living of it. His memory will forever be a beacon of hope and joy for all.
